Spare magneto coils.

It's a good idea to have one of these in store for a rainy day...

The magneto coil is what generates the electricity for the ignition spark. It's a very important piece that is rarely seen as it is usually nestled behind the magneto panel on the side of the engine. In the picture below I have removed the cover for display. One unfortunate aspect of this assembly is that while the coils of tiny copper wires behind the nylon material are protected behind several layers of defense they are not %100 invulnerable to the elements, namely water. On occaision, it's possible that a rider can be caught off guard by an unexpected thunderstorm and some water might splash up through the small hole that the wires go through and seep into the coil, thereby shorting out the magneto. The remedy for this that we have found to be effective is to seal all of the possible inlets with a silicon based gasket formula when we assemble each of our engines. Theoretically this makes the assembly water tight and we have had no problems thus far.

Just in case the need for a new magneto coil arises however, we offer new magnetos for only $15 and will install them for an additional $10. We recommend keeping a spare magneto as an easy preventative measure. A phillips or flat-head screwdriver is the only tool required for a quick field replacement.
